We are delighted to host Cecilia Gonzalez and Luciano Bastos in their 2025 tour.
Cecilia is a tango icon who teaches at tango festivals and congresses around the world. As a teacher, Cecilia is humble and generous and yet is direct and demanding when her students want to be challenged. She is a member of the teaching faculty of Argentine International Tango Congress (C.I.T.A), which is held annually in Buenos Aires.
Luciano is dancer, teacher and choreographer. As a dancer and choreographer, along with Aurora Lubiz, he joined the orchestra “El Café de los Maestros” and a cast of iconic tango musicians to tour throughout Brazil, Argentina, China, South Korea and Singapore. He has starred in exhibitions with several tango orchestras including Sexteto Milonguero, Sexteto Unitango, Orquesta Típica El Afronte and Orquesta Color Tango in Brazil, Argentina and Europe.
Class schedule
The class schedule, below, includes classes for all levels from beginner to advanced. All classes will include a dance summary for you to record.
Gala Milonga
The gala milonga is on Saturday, 31st May in the Carson room at Mt Gravatt Bowls Club. It’s going to be a great night with:
- Dancing from 7:30 until 11:30 pm
- A performance by Cecilia and Luciano
- Bar facilities
- Dinner is available up to 8 pm at the club (booking recommended)
- Fruit platters to ensure you keep up your energy levels for all that dancing.

We will keep the ratio of leaders/followers in classes equal. If numbers are out of balance you may go onto a waiting list unless you enroll as a couple.
During the workshops we’ll change partners regularly. If you enroll as a single, you are expected to swap each rotation. If you enroll as a couple, you can elect to stay together or swap around.

Private classes
Private classes are with either Cecilia or Luciano. The price is AUD $165 payable directly to the teacher. Email us to book your private class. The venue is 23 Tarpon St, The Gap.
